| I'd better keep this short, I have unpacking and cleaning to do. Last
week, Vicki came to visit from Maryland. It was very exciting - no
one's ever flown across the country to see me before! She stayed with
me for a few days, then the two of us, along with my boyfriend, rented
a car and drove up to Las Vegas. It was pretty awesome, we saw all the
sights, did some touristy stuff. While Vicki was at a show with a
friend on Thursday night, my boyfriend took me to dinner at Cafe
Bellagio. It was so wonderful I told him not to be surprised if I cried
:) (I didn't, by the way.)
We spent a few days on the strip, then went and spent a night in a
cabin near the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. I've only ever seen the
South Rim, so this was sort of new for all of us. It was great. Then,
of course, was the coming home and the trying to decompress and the
jumping back into the real world. School is tough, and the holidays are
really starting to hit at work.
Of course, nothing can be too perfect. Today in addition to cleaning
and unpacking and (hopefully) working on one or two of the gajillion
projects I've got in the works, I've got to find a way to overcome some
angst. It seems like all of his friends are girls and none of them are
happy being just friends. Like I didn't come pre-packaged with enough
insecurities. ::kicks a rock::

| Two things:
1. This week, I'm training my replacement at work.
Starting in October, I'm stepping down from my position as Event
Coordinator. I'll still teach knitting classes, and I'll be the new
Assistant Floral Designer. It's less money, but I don't mind. It'll be
less stressful.
2. I got the greatest text message from my boyfriend
this morning. It said "Could I come over and use your yarn winder?" As
soon as I have a chance, I'll post a picture of the arm warmers he
crocheted for me

| Wow. Everything seems so different here. Butter my butt and call me a
muffin - have I really been missing since January? I guess I have. I
hardly have time to knit anymore - and let's not discuss how long it's
been since I cleaned my room! That's actually what brought me here
tonight - I was sorting yarn, and I thought of all of you.
A combination of things kind of ate up my time and took me away from
here - school, Dan, and I'll admit it: MySpace. But it was mostly work
that did it.
In February, I took over as the Event Coordinator for my store. It's
been...exhausting. There's stuff going on with that that's still up in
the air, so I'll wait until something happens before I talk about that
further.
Over the summer, we remodelled the store. It looks fabulous! It was, in many ways, a life-changing experience.
I am no longer with Dan. It was my decision, but it's worked out well
for both of us. We're as amicable as can be imagined. I'll admit, I
could not be happier.
I'm actually seeing someone new. And I know how it looks/sounds to say
that already, but I really don't care. He's wonderful and we're very
happy. It's been only a short time, but he's been very good for me
already.
School is rough this semester. And man oh man, I just realized I missed a quiz in my online class!!!
Criminological Theory and Research Methods are enough to kill me - and
I have two other classes on top of those! I'll survive, though.
Okay, I have a room to clean and soup to eat. I'll find some way to get caught up with all of you. I've missed you.

| I am in a desperate search for the perfect cabled cardigan. So far, I haven't found one I like. I'm not even sure what I'm looking for. But if anyone has any suggestions, I'm all for it.
Now I must go to bed. School and work are taking their toll on my poor respiratory-infected self.
| Back by popular demand!
I'm sorry I've been gone so long. I've really missed reading all of you. I have just been so busy, and when I am home I'm usually...well...sleeping
I've been cashiering at a local craft store - why didn't I get this job three years ago? It's fun, it's interesting, I get to talk crafts all day, and I get 25% off yarn! Plus, dealing with people face-to-face all day has done a lot to 'bring me out of my shell' so to speak. I'm still shy, but now I have an easier time talking to people. It's a good thing, too, because on the 12th I'm teaching my first knitting class! That's right, yours truly is the new knitting instructor.I could say "I'm so excited!" but that would be an understatement. Of course, I'm nervous, too, but I can live with that.
School is going well. I have my finals next week. I did a group presentation in my Organized Crime class and all I really have to say is that I'm glad it's over. My schedule for the Spring could be better since they cancelled my online class, but work has gotten me accustomed to getting up early, so I'll live through my 8 AM class.
Dan is doing alright. His docter decided against the 'miracle drug' we were all hoping for in favor of something slower-working, but safer in the long term. He's definitely getting better, but you know how it goes, the road to recovery is a long one.
I can't really talk about knitting, except to say that I suck, Christmas snuck up on me, and I think I may end up sending out some Groundhog Day presents.
Mom and Peanut picked me up after work yesterday and we went and bought a Christmas tree. We strung the lights and hung the glass balls before we wimped out and went to bed. I'm not sure when we're going to hang the rest of the ornaments, but once we do I'm going to post a picture.
Speaking of pictures, Peanut and I both got glasses.
Well, I'm off to get ready for work. Hopefully when school lets out I'll have time to catch up, because I miss you all terribly.
